The Sailor Girl was loving being out on the water for day 1, and made it back on shore just intime to chat to five of the six teams today.
So how did the racing go down?
Two from two for Oracle Team USA on day one of the second America’s Cup World Series in Gothenburg! James Spithill and the team were on fire today. Second to Land Rover Ben Ainslie Racing in both races, now in second…
Brad Jackson in Portsmouth post Fastnet
Brad Jackson took some time out of his busy schedule post Fastnet Race to sit down with me and chat about the Rambler 88 program as well as the Volvo Ocean Race, both Team SCA and whether we will see him back in a boat again any time soon!
Ken Read in Gothenburg on the AC and Comanche programs
Having missed catching up with Kenny in Cowes and also in…
The press conference with the skippers at the Americas Cup World Series Gothenburg on 28 August 2015. The skippers cover everything from how Artemis Racing found themselves capsized and why Emirates Team NZ pulled out of the racing, to how it is for Ben and Jimmy to be racing against each other and how Softbank Team Japan is going as the last team to join the series. One year until Rio 2016
23 August 2015
Congratulations to all of the medallists at the Rio 2016 ISAF Test Event, but also those who didn’t medal, and the mass of support crews and families behind all of the sailors. Olympic sailing is a tough road that is often underrated due to the public perception of our sport, and I have to say I am in awe of what our Olympic sailors give up every day of their lives to chase their dream to be the…
No records, but plenty of smiles at Fastnet finish
20 August 2015
I am now calling it #rainmouth, but all are happy here in Plymouth despite a very tricky 2015 Rolex Fastnet race (now known as #slownet).
Was great (although wet) to meet Team SCA on the dock this afternoon. A quick turnaround and they are already heading back to Gosport.
Check out the video below – and stay tuned for more from me in the coming days!
Plenty of action in between blogs on…

VX One Class at Cowes Week
Roger Phillips sailed a VX One for the first time today and absolutely sent it with his crew Tom Compton, and Nathan Batchelor from Ovington Boats. Love this class, I was very jealous of the action in the sports boat class today!
J70 Class – RAF Benevolent Fund Spitfire
The last time I caught up with Simon Ling was at the J70 Worlds in La Rochelle a month ago.
UKSA is the official charity of Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week… and wow, amazing to chat with UKSA Ambassador Sarah Ayton, a multiple Olympic medallist, OBE and mum about this brilliant organisation while on the ground here in Cowes!
Enjoy, Sailor Girl x
A chat with UKSA head of branding Will Myles on what the UKSA is and just what sailing can do to help people… unbelievable!
